Shannon Parish began our Celebrations of the Sacrament of Confirmation on Friday 27th April when Bishop Kieran O’Reilly SMA celebrated with 59 pupils of St. Conaire’s School in SS John & Paul Church to a packed congregation.
On Saturday 28th April Bishop Kieran began the day by celebrating his second Confirmation Ceremony in Mary Immaculate as 52 children from St. Senan’s, St. Tola’s, Gael Scoil Donncha Rua, and St. John’s were confirmed. In the afternoon he returned to SS John & Paul Church for the final Confirmation Ceremony of the year when he confirmed 36 children from St. Aidan’s School and one student from St. Patrick’s Comprehensive School.
Our thanks to Bishop Kieran for his presence with us and to our teachers, parents and Faith Friends Leaders who journeyed with the children in preparation for the Sacrament. To the children confirmed we congratulate you and look forward to your active presence in our parish in the years to come.
