At this time of the year our schools are entering the final few days of the school year. The timetable is full of tours and wonderful activities as our children and teenagers prepare to enjoy the Summer holidays. For the 6th class pupils and their in our primary schools the first phase of school is now complete. In many ways it’s the end of an era and the beginning of a new one in September. Having recently celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation I hope the same spirit will guide these wonderful boys and girls in the years ahead so that they will grow to be caring, responsible, courageous citizens. Education and faith play a vital role in this task, and especially may they not lose that connection with Jesus who is a friend of our youth, and whose message of love inspires our young people. What are my hopes for our young people as they enter the next phase in the lives?
I hope they will continue to be generous and caring with their loved ones and each other.
I hope they will have great respect for themselves and for others.
I hope they will grow close with their families who will always be there for them no matter.
I hope they will contribute to our community, and by their energy and enthusiasm encourage others.
I hope they will to the best of their ability always try to do the right thing and say no to the things they know deep down are destructive.
I hope us adults will lead our young by our example in how we live, move, and have our being.
I hope our youth will be blessed with health, happiness, and fulfilment.
God bless all our students this Summer!
